On
11 June 2026, the 3rd issue of the professional journal
Vytápění, větrání, instalace (VVI) was published, featuring an article by
MANDÍK entitled
“Air Flow Regulators: What the Environmental Product Declaration Does (And Does Not) Say.”
The article, written by
Ing. Vojtěch Harok and
Ing. Veronika Jenčíková, focuses on the topic of
EPD for air-handling components and explains why environmental data for these products need to be assessed in broader technical and operational contexts.
Among other topics, the article compares
CAV and VAV air flow regulators and discusses the impact of pressure losses in air-handling systems on overall energy consumption. The authors point out that the EPD of an individual component may not always fully reflect its environmental impact within the entire system.
